1. THIRD-PARTY HOSTING

Unless otherwise offered or agreed, Meridian Digital does not provide website hosting services directly.

All live websites are hosted with a third-party hosting provider selected by the client. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own hosting account and ensuring it remains active and in good standing.

Where requested, Meridian Digital may recommend suitable hosting providers and assist with setup, migration and launch. Any such assistance does not constitute ownership, control or provision of hosting services by Meridian Digital.

Meridian Digital does not own, operate or control third-party hosting infrastructure, servers or data centres.


2. STAGING & DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENTS

During the website build process, Meridian Digital may develop your website on a secure, temporary staging environment for testing and approval purposes.

Staging environments:

  • are provided for development only

  • are not intended for long-term hosting

  • may be removed following website launch or project completion

  • should not be relied upon as a backup or live environment

Once the website is approved, it will be migrated to the client’s chosen hosting provider for launch.


3. SCOPE OF MAINTENANCE SERVICES

Website Care & Maintenance services are provided only where expressly outlined in your Proposal, Care Plan or written agreement.

Maintenance services apply only to websites built, managed or approved by Meridian Digital, unless otherwise agreed in writing.


4. MAINTENANCE INCLUSIONS

Where included in your selected Website Care & Maintenance plan, services may include:

  • WordPress core and plugin updates

  • Licence management for included premium plugins (where applicable)

  • Basic security monitoring

  • Backup coordination (via hosting provider or third-party tools)

  • General troubleshooting and support

Specific inclusions depend on your selected plan and are outlined in your Proposal.


5. EXCLUSIONS

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Website Care & Maintenance does not include:

  • Hosting services

  • Email hosting or email migration

  • Website redesigns or feature development

  • Content updates or copywriting

  • SEO optimisation or advanced performance tuning

  • Fixing issues caused by unauthorised third-party plugins, themes or integrations

  • Malware removal, hacked site recovery or emergency remediation

Work outside scope may incur additional fees.


6. ACCESS & CONTROL

Clients retain ownership and control of their hosting account.

Where maintenance services are active, Meridian Digital may require appropriate administrative access to WordPress and related tools to deliver services effectively.

Meridian Digital is not responsible for issues arising from restricted access, revoked permissions or third-party hosting limitations.


7. BACKUPS & DATA

Backups are provided only where included in your hosting environment or Website Care plan.

All backups are provided on a best-effort basis and are intended as a general safeguard only. Meridian Digital does not guarantee backup availability, completeness or successful restoration.

Clients remain responsible for maintaining their own independent backups of website content and data.


8. SECURITY

Meridian Digital takes reasonable steps to support website security where maintenance services are active. However:

  • no website can be guaranteed to be fully secure

  • Meridian Digital is not responsible for security breaches caused by outdated software, weak passwords, unauthorised access, or third-party plugins, themes or integrations

  • security incidents requiring investigation, cleanup or emergency work may incur additional fees


9. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Clients must:

  • maintain secure passwords and access controls

  • avoid installing unlicensed, pirated or unauthorised software

  • notify Meridian Digital promptly of suspected issues

Meridian Digital reserves the right to suspend maintenance services if a website poses a security risk.


10. MIGRATION & HANDOVER

Migration or handover assistance may be provided at Meridian Digital’s discretion and may incur additional fees.

Meridian Digital does not guarantee compatibility with third-party hosting environments.


11. LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Meridian Digital is not liable for downtime, data loss or business interruption caused by third-party hosting providers

  • Liability is limited to the fees paid for Website Care & Maintenance services during the affected period

Nothing in these terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law.


12. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia.
