Frequently Asked Questions
What is copywriting? Is it the same as copyright? How much do you cost? Do you only build on WordPress? Can I make changes to my site?
If you can't find the answer to a FAQ and it's burning a hole in your brain get in touch, we'd love to help.
We love this question! You should choose us because not only are we friendly and professional but we believe in old-fashioned customer service. You'll find us organised, educational and we take the time to get to know all about you, your business, your brand and your goals.
Our briefing process is very thorough because it's the only way we can craft SEO-friendly copy that is engaging, conversational and creates connections with your ideal client.
And, if that's not enough, how would you feel if I told you I could take those beautiful words and wrap them in an equally impressive, responsive website design that shines a light on your business? This is my special talent and if it's something that you're keen to know more about, book your free discovery call and let's talk.
I've got some lovely testimonials from previous clients. They loved working with me, and I think you will too. You can check them out on Google.
I've written for all sorts of industries including tech start-ups, professional business and life coaches, tradies, residential real estate firms, graphic designers and marketing agencies and website companies (to name a few).
For website design, my packages are geared more towards service-based businesses. Generally, I don't work with e-commerce business owners but if you love what you see, let's chat.
Even if your industry is new to me, I have a thorough briefing process that lets me quickly come up to speed with its unique qualities and target market. I invest time in getting to know you, your business, your industry and your target market really well. I ask the right questions in my Copywriting and Website Brief to ensure that I've got the information I need to create stellar copy and design a website that helps you achieve your goals.
I believe in delivering quality over quantity and being transparent. I'll be honest, if you want to get online within a couple of weeks, I'm not your girl.
I aim for a six to eight week turn-around time but the pace of your project depends on how much input you can provide during the briefing stages and your responsiveness with feedback. It also depends on the type of website and the functionality that you require. More complex and fully custom designed sites will take longer to develop.
Yes. When you've seen my proposal, and you're keen to book your project, I send you a commencement invoice for 50% of the quoted project fees. The balance is payable when I deliver the second version of your copy and/or website.
Yes. WordPress is my preferred Content Management System (CMS) and it now powers more than 30% of the web. Its popularity is due to its flexibility, scalability and ease of use.
Unlike other website development platforms, WordPress isn't, so you'll always own your website.
Worried that you won't know how to update it? Don’t worry, my goal is to deliver a website that's easy for you to manage. I use a drag and drop builder that I'll show you how to use. And, if you're still not sure, I offer Website Care Plans to help you protect your investment.
Absolutely! If you're not keen to maintain your website I offer website care plans to ensure your investment is protected and you're free to focus on other aspects of your business.
I tailor all copywriting and website design projects to your needs. If you're in need of a new website, check out my website packages for approximate costings. These costs are very reasonable for their inclusions. In fact, the average cost of a brochure website (without copywriting) in Australia is between $3,000 to $6,000 dollars. SEO copywriting can cost you just as much or more depending on the complexity of the project.
When you get my proposal, you'll be able to see an estimated fixed price for your project. Once we've finished the copywriting and website design brief and we're super clear on what we're creating, I'll confirm that pricing before I start writing and designing.
Then, I stick to it. There'll be no sneaky surprises for you at the end of the project.
Even if you've got a largish project, we can break it down into stages to make it work with your budget.
I will need some specifics about what we're creating to give you a proposal. For example, I'll need to know if you need copy for a website, brochure or a blog, or how many pages you'd like written or designed for your website.
My briefing process gives you the opportunity to tell me all about your business, industry and your ideal clients. We'll also talk about what you like and don't like in website design.
We start with a briefing questionnaire and then move into a briefing or strategy session depending on your project.
If this feels like the right approach for you, get in touch and let's chat.
Copywriting is writing words generally for your promotional or marketing material. A copywriter (that's me) writes copy for a whole range of things like websites, emails, white papers, press releases, case studies, video scripts, blogs, brochures, adverts or even social media snippets.
The super cool thing about professional copy is that it makes sure your customers are clearly (and quickly) made aware of the benefits of your project or service. The words and phrases used are compelling and motivates them to take action, like buying your product or booking your service. Sounds good, right?
To maximise the time spent on your webpage, it's important that your copy is readable, engaging and motivates your visitors to your call to action.
SEO copywriting takes this a step further catering for search engines (like Google) as well as your target market by weaving your keywords and phrases into relevant, engaging and persuasive content.

Ahhh, no. It's not. But don't worry, I get asked this question a lot!
Copyright refers to a bunch of legal rights and ownership over creative works.
These are related to SEO copywriting, and they are the first thing a user will see if they use a search engine to find your website.
The page title is a short description of a webpage and appears at the top of your browser window and in the search engine results page. It's a good idea to include your brand name and keywords if appropriate.
The meta description is a snippet that tells the user what your page is all about. It's limited to about 155 characters and should be compelling enough that the visitor wants to click through and check out the page.
Absolutely. Your input is not only vital to the success of your project, but I really value it.
You get to have your say through my revisions process. However, if you suggest a change that in my professional opinion is unwise, I'll let you know but leave the final decision in your hands.
Yes! Having a mobile-friendly and responsive website is more important than ever! I design your website to ensure that it looks great on a variety of devices.
Yes! I build all my sites using a drag and drop builder that lets you see changes as you're making them. Gone are the days of paying excessive fees to have text or an image updated on your website. In fact, I love it when my clients take control of their website and learn to manage it on their own.
Depending on your package, I provide either a pre-recorded handover video or live Zoom session walkthrough to help you navigate your new site. I'm also building a library of video tutorials to help you learn your way around. These are available to clients that opted in for one of my website care plans. If you need additional one on one training sessions, this can be organised as well.
You're free to choose you're preferred hosting provider, and there are many to choose from. But, if you're keen for ongoing support through one of my website care plans your website will need to be hosted with my preferred provider. We'll talk more about this during your briefing.
No way! I've worked with clients all over Australia. We'll generally manage everything over the phone, or via email or zoom.
This depends on how booked up I am. I give priority to existing projects and my client's love that I work hard to meet their deadlines.
It's a good idea to reach out to me early on (at least 4 - 6 weeks before you need to start your project). I'll let you know upfront if I can't meet your deadline.
This totally depends on the size and complexity of your project. Once we agree on a cost for your project, I'll provide clear timeframes for your project. This means you'll know when each stage of your copy is due and how long you have to submit revisions.
I also offer a 14-day guarantee. After sending through the first draft, you have up to 14 days to discuss your revisions with me. Within the 14-day guarantee period, I guarantee I will turn your changes around as soon as possible so you can get on with your business, with your new copy ready to work for you.
